Improved Tax Breaks for Hybrid Owners
Despite my ups and downs with my own hybrid car, I'm pleased to report that the government is getting more aggressive in creating incentives for consumers to test drive such technologies. More here.
This is the story of a hybrid car, purchased in October 2003. Narrated by a once hyper-evangelistic owner who purchased special license plates reading "Mo Miles," this blog covers the owner's meandering drive from pre-purchase to post-purchase and carefully examines the gap between advertising promise and actual results. Author remains devoted to advancements and adoption of hybrid-technology, but is equally commited to educating buyers about the "complete story," especially around mileage.

I have a question that I can't seem to get a straight answer to:
If the EPA improperly rates the mileage for hybrids - doesn't this apply to ALL vehicles?
I read somewhere that vehicles actually are only expected to preform around 75-80% of what the advertised EPA mileage is. Is this true?
Great blog - very informative.
I've been using a Gas Mileage Saver that is saving me up to 50 cents per gallon of gas.

This sounds to be a good news for the motorists and the alternative fuel enthusiasts.
This is a goodway to help improve the hybrid economy. A good sign that the government is supporting for the economical use of fuel.
It would be better if Tax Break for Alternative Fuels are also given.
We get some great tax breaks here in the UK for driving green cars. I particularly like the hybrid because you are not comprimising too much in terms of what conventional cars offer. There is a real slow uptake for hybrid vehicles in the UK but hopefully this will change in the not so distant future. It would be great to hear your opinions here: www.2talkabout.com/Honda

It only applies to hybrids because they turn totally off when stopped to simulate regular driving, but there is too much full stop time in the current test.
Take a look at the power regulator on these Honda generators.
Anything to help ease the reliance on fossil fuels is a step forward and the USA is playing catch up with the Euros leading the way.
